Barclays Bank

13 Queen St, Ramsgate CT11 9DZ, UK – 0345 734 5345

I have been with Barclays Bank for over 30 years and have always found the staff very helpful and informative. The one exception was at the Wood Green branch, but that silly little man didn't get the better of me. The branch in Ramsgate has always been very good. The only misgiving I have with any bank is the reliance on machines in the branch instead of actual people. Please consider the customer, as well as the share holder. Thank you

All staff professional and helpful. If this branch is closed it will be a serious loss to this community. Use it or lose it!

Building Societies

52/, 54 High St, Ramsgate CT11 9AQ, UK – 0800 554 0280

Intelligent and talented Calvin Mitchell personal banking manager!! This was our first experience with Nationwide branch at Ramsgate. I had called to make an appointment on the day and even though he was fully booked he was courteous and booked the appointment on the same day. Extremely competent as well as proficient and sincere in his work . He was very hospitable and sorted everything out in a matter of few minutes when previously we had to wait for 2 weeks. I am certain he will reach the top and We wish him all the best and success in his career.Thank you Calvin

Very friendly staff and very helpful

Dental Surgeries

Church Hill Dental Practice

5-7 Church Hill, Ramsgate CT11 8RA, UK – 0300 303 4930

I admit the reception staff can be a bit short at times but then so would I be if I were asked questions like 'are they going to be long?' multiple times each day! Fact is dentistry is not an easy thing to schedule for! At the end of the day what matters is the dentist and the quality of dental work, which in my case is 5 star and the best I've had to date.

Great Dentist Practice. Really lovely dentists, and really compassionate to those who require a bit of empathy. Lovely receptionists and hygienists. Very reasonable prices too.

Centre for Dentistry

Dadson Way Inside Sainsbury's, Ramsgate, Thanet CT12 5FJ, UK – 01843 377002

Before coming to centre for dentistry I had a real phobia of dentists after some bad experiences. My teeth were also in a bad way and I needed a reasonable amount of work done. Ryan and the team couldn’t have been nicer and more empathetic about my fears and concerns. I really feel like I’ve turned a corner and my phobia of dentists is gone. I also had some bad staining on my lower front teeth and multiple coffee stains from being a coffee lover and Ryan suggested airflow. Wow it’s amazing. I can’t stress enough how different my teeth look after this treatment. My deepest thanks to Ryan and the Team !!!

Made me feel calm and talked through it and I have never felt that calm in a dentist before. Top marks. :)

Marlowe Innovation Centre, Marlowe Way, Ramsgate CT12 6FA, UK – 01843 598696

Everyone is always friendly, fun and chatty! Such a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, especially for someone who had a phobia of going to the dentist due to previous bad experiences! Highly Recommended - if you’re not sure just pop in and have a chat and check up its definitely worth it & they do not judge you by the state of your teeth so don’t be afraid of that!

Taking out the insurance offered is a good move; gives peace of mind and an incentive for them to help you with preventative dental practices! My teeth are in good shape now :-)

Find Local Churches & Places of Worship

Global Generation (Church) Ltd

Unit 2/Westwood Business Park/Strasbourg St, Margate CT9 4JJ, UK – 01843 226232

The best blood donation location I have ever been to - there is a mini coffee shop inside! It seems like an odd location really... you may think you are in the wrong place. Pity about the religious nonsense .

St Peter's Church

Church St, Broadstairs CT10 2TR, UK – 01843 866061

Cemetery is kept very well, the staff are very friendly. we do a lot of work there, being the main Stonemasons in the area. Always a pleasure to work here. Feel free to check us out ROBERTS STONEMASONS LTD.

The Parish Church of St Peter the Apostle in St Peter-in-Thanet is a large Grade II* listed Victorian restored church dating in parts to the 14th century. Although the interior is impressive with painted 19th-century barrel ceilings, walls and arches, the flint-walled exterior I find oppressive. A real draw for this church is the churchyard, the largest in Kent, with impressive monuments and tombs, some in areas romantically overgrown, often with wild flowers.

MPL Waste Managment Ltd

Unit J7/ Ind Est, Channel Rd, Margate CT9 4JS, UK – 01843 232584

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Ramsgate

CCCP Restaurant

14-18 Chatham St, Ramsgate CT11 7PP, UK – 01843 592811

Great find. Don't let the outside deceive you as there is such a great welcome and delicious food awaiting you inside. It was our first visit on Sunday for Mother's day. I hadn't had eastern European cuisine before. Everything is made from scratch so lunch was leisurely. We all had different meals but at the end agree that we would all return. Highly recommended.

Very pleasant welcome and interesting chat whilst waiting for takeaway which was cooked to order. Decor very appropriate for a Russian restaurant, down to TV showing Russian satellite programmes. Generous portions of very tasty food. Highly recommended and will return to this unique establishment.

ASK Italian

Margate Rd, Ramsgate, Broadstairs CT10 2BF, UK – 020 3802 1999

Great friendly service and a varied menu which is changed from time to time to add variety. A good selection of wines - I recommend the Primitivo. The option to have a smaller plate of pasta with a side salad is welcome if you are not too hungry or if you want to go with the starters as well - of which there is an interesting selection.

1st time with a take away from there. Great service and everything was brilliantly packaged. Food was good.

The Churchill Tavern

19-21 Paragon, Ramsgate CT11 9JX, UK – 01843 587862

Good local food and service in restaurant area. Kent ales sold over the bar along with all normal pub beverages. Also some really good live music over the weekends. Private downstairs function room available. Overall a good 4/5. 👍

Great atmosphere, suitable for a quick drink or a longer visit. Lots of different nooks and crannies to choose from. Play pool without worrying about passerbys. Sit secluded from the rest of the bar or choose a table nearer the fellow patrons. Choose from mainstream drinks or something a bit more local great choices available at the bar.

Laleham Gap School

Ozengell Pl, Ramsgate CT12 6FH, UK – 01843 570598

Hey, I’m in my last year there, with a month to go. I feel it’s only fair I share my honest opinion of the school I’ve been attending since 2009. The teaching style is fairly adequate, I suppose. I’ve not really been exposed to mainstream education, but it seems okay. One thing I do find irritating is that too much “free periods” are given towards the end of term or year, regardless of any exams or anything like that (been having such experience since about year 7). The environment is okay, but I feel for example placing the pupil bathroom near the art room... is quite off-putting? The designers should have designated a separate area specifically for bathrooming in my opinion. Though it does seem a little patronising in a way if you’re post-year 8. Also assemblies are extremely patronising towards anyone other than year 7. Behaviour and equality is one regard I feel needs to be addressed. I witnessed constant distractions from one particular pupil in a mock exam in March who should have really been disqualified. A lot of the awards seem to also go to the same pupils in the same year groups (the lower two years and the current year 10s). I remember incidents in which nothing was done about it but as soon as certain pupils were involved, the staff were onto it like a dog to a bowl of food. Also, the amount of unjustified reviews here, probably from pupils, isn’t even glanced at except one of them which clearly has been censored under request... Qualifications are also something I have to complain about. I’m doing... four GCSE equivalent qualifications. Sure, I’m not exactly the smartest person around but... four? Don’t most schools offer about 9? It’s probably to eliminate stress but it makes less chances to get the minimum for the college course you want to take later on in your life. A couple of things I do have that are appreciative to say is that some of the staff are pretty relaxed it seems and the attitude towards the internet seems quite positive from the current teacher compared to some other schools I’ve heard about before. Overall it’s okay but needs some adjustments to get a better rating from me at this moment in time. ~SynthicMagic

I don't go there but my friend alex his girlfriend niece goes there Maria Novak and said she will be 15 in April so in September so Maria Novak will be year 10
