Due to the support & effort put in by the staff with my son. My son done his last two years here and he's had a brilliant two yrs. He got the support for his additional needs and all assessments and referrals done that a previous school didn't do. Of course there are some things I didn't like, but they are trivial. I found that the year 5&6 teachers there actually care about every child despite their ability and would work alongside parents to get children to the level they should be at. Do I recommend this school? Yes, again due to the experience my son had with getting the support he needed. They have helped get my son to the level he's at now and I genuinely believe if he went there from Reception he'd be doing even better now.
Good enough for my grandaughter

St Lawrence College is one of the best in the area, the buildings are well thought out and the staff are very well trained and put them selves out to make sure that you understand the subject being taught. Can't go wrong with this college..

Hey, I’m in my last year there, with a month to go. I feel it’s only fair I share my honest opinion of the school I’ve been attending since 2009. The teaching style is fairly adequate, I suppose. I’ve not really been exposed to mainstream education, but it seems okay. One thing I do find irritating is that too much “free periods” are given towards the end of term or year, regardless of any exams or anything like that (been having such experience since about year 7). The environment is okay, but I feel for example placing the pupil bathroom near the art room... is quite off-putting? The designers should have designated a separate area specifically for bathrooming in my opinion. Though it does seem a little patronising in a way if you’re post-year 8. Also assemblies are extremely patronising towards anyone other than year 7. Behaviour and equality is one regard I feel needs to be addressed. I witnessed constant distractions from one particular pupil in a mock exam in March who should have really been disqualified. A lot of the awards seem to also go to the same pupils in the same year groups (the lower two years and the current year 10s). I remember incidents in which nothing was done about it but as soon as certain pupils were involved, the staff were onto it like a dog to a bowl of food. Also, the amount of unjustified reviews here, probably from pupils, isn’t even glanced at except one of them which clearly has been censored under request... Qualifications are also something I have to complain about. I’m doing... four GCSE equivalent qualifications. Sure, I’m not exactly the smartest person around but... four? Don’t most schools offer about 9? It’s probably to eliminate stress but it makes less chances to get the minimum for the college course you want to take later on in your life. A couple of things I do have that are appreciative to say is that some of the staff are pretty relaxed it seems and the attitude towards the internet seems quite positive from the current teacher compared to some other schools I’ve heard about before. Overall it’s okay but needs some adjustments to get a better rating from me at this moment in time. ~SynthicMagic
